Baby Nay Clothing was born thirteen years ago by designer Nay Khoubnazar. Her original company, Nay Et Al ,was launched in 1992 as a tabletop linen company. In 1998 when the “famous” Baby Lulu lines were just starting to come out, Baby Nay (then known as Nay Et Al) was still a linens line, but was also designing some women’s pajamas in coordinating fabrics. They thought it would be cute to make them mini - of course it would! So they cut their traditional button-down pajamas in toddler and girls sizes. Their signature print was so fresh and appreciated (a definite cross between a Rachel Ashwell and Baby Lulu print) that they started cutting infant pieces in a jersey fabric. Their adorable little kimono tie tops and leggings, bunting gowns and little beanie caps were a huge hit, thus opening up a new door for them. Baby Nay’s light toile and smaller floral prints were a refreshing change from Baby Lulu’s HUGE flowers on little babies. The pieces were simple, yet feminine - gauze ruffle trims, accent bows, and of course all of the matching accessories you could want.
Baby Nay signature boutique is in the heart of Brentwood, California. This “high-end” boutique carried exclusive Baby Nay signature collections which drew celebrity clients such as Reese Witherspoon, Brooke Shields, and Melissa Etheridge. Eventually, the Baby Nay children’s market exploded, so Nay expanded her company to include a more affordable bedding and loungewear line.
